Willowside Middle School Promotion Ceremony

Tonight I headed out with my new lens to photograph my niece Olivia's promotion from 8th grade. It was a great ceremony with all the pomp and cercumstance you expect. The kids looked like they were having fun as they prepare to leave the comforts of Willowside and head on out to High School.

The following is a quick slideshow for Olivia and her friends, I will edit the images soon and get them off to all the kids.

The Petersen Family

I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing the Petersen Family a few weeks ago. I met this big family on their ranch. This is my first shoot with hay bales. The family was warm and inviting and I had a great time getting to know them all. There were lots of favorites in this group, but I decided to show pages from their Session Album. Each photosession I do gets a "session album" with images from their photos. To me it is a great way to showcase all the images and share with family and friends. I love session albums; and I hope the Petersen's love theirs too.

I love this image, Mr. and Mrs. Petersen look regal here.

and of course no blog post is complete with out a slideshow, it takes a moment to load.

Carol & Denzil Engagement

Carol and Denzil are looking forward to a September wedding. We met up in San Francisco for some ocean side pictures until the the wind pushed us back. It was cold and windy but we made the best of it. I think we got some nice pics of the happy couple, I hope they like them. Here are a few of my favorites.

Introducing Mia Celine

Mia Celine is my newest cousin, the beautiful daughter of Elizabeth and Robert Keller. Isn't she beautiful.... we met last week on the hottest day of the year to photograph our newest family member. I always knew Elizabeth and Rob would make wonderful parents, they are both so in love with their daughter you can feel it. I sometimes miss having a baby in the house, but lucky for me I have enough cousins to fulfill me. Here are just a few of my favorites.

and the slideshow, it takes a moment to load. I heard this song last week on AI, and I knew I had to use it for baby Mia. Rob and Eliz are not fond of my music choices usually, so I hope they like this one.

Cassie P. AHS Class of 2008

Cassie is a photographers dream client. Perfect skin, a beautiful smile, sparkling eyes.... the list goes on and on. We met last weekend for a few senior pics, and I had so many good ones to choose from. I may have gone a little overboard, but I just couldn't choose a few favorites.

Ashley E. AHS Class of 2008

Beautiful High School Seniors are coming up all over, I had the pleasure of meeting Ashley last week, in a field of poppies. Ashely found a beautiful field of flowers for the backdrop to her Senior Portraits. But the flowers were pale in comparison to her beautiful eyes. My photoshop skills were not needed to bring out the beauty in Ashleys eyes, they were this bright straight out of the camera...Lucky girl. We finished up the session at her Grandpa's garden so we had a nice variety of locations. The heat was oppressive but I think we made out okay, I hope she likes her senior portraits. Here are a few of my favs.

Breanna V. AHS Class of 2008

Another beauty from the Class of 2008, this time from my old High School, Analy. The lovely Breanna chose Luther Burbank Gardens in Santa Rosa for her senior portraits. Spring in LBG is beautiful, the roses were blooming in all of their glory and the poppies were beautiful. Lucky for us the place was deserted because we got in every flower box in the place. Bree was easy to photograph with her big bright smile that just lights up her face. The following are a few of my favorites from the shoot. Enjoy.

Molly H. PHS Class of 2009

I am happy to report that Molly agreed to be my Senior Rep for Piner High School. This is the second year I have used Senior Reps and it is a great way to advertise for me and a great opportunity for the Senior Rep. This is part 1 of Molly's senior pics; we are going out again soon, hopefully to the beach, to take more pictures. Molly agrees to promote Mel O. Photos in exchange for free prints and products. So if you are a Piner High school student and you are looking for a FUN and FRESH Senior Portrait Session ask Molly about her experience.

Enough with the advertising.... Molly chose Julliard Park and Luther Burbank Gardens for her first session. Catching the sparkle in her blue eyes was easy and so much fun, especially when she took out her bright pink guitar... I loved it, I love when Seniors bring items that represent them; and this pink guitar was perfect. I think we got some pretty sweet shots and I can't wait to hang out with Molly and her mom Cheryl again for part 2. I hope you enjoy your pictures Molly.

And now for the slideshow: It takes a moment to load.
